Sabudana is most popular and used ingredients on upwas. If you are fan of sabudana khichdi but bored eating it then sabudana laddu is best option for you.
There are lot of popular recipes for upwas like Sabudana Khichdi, Sabudana Vada, Sabudana Thalipeeth, Sabudana Papad, etc. 


Typically upwas observed on special occasions like Navratri, Sankastha Chaturthi, Ekadashi, ect. Some people also observes it on days like Monday, Thursday or Saturday.


Here recipe of How to make Sabudana laddu explained by me, which I learn from my mother who is very good chef and my inspiration.

Ingredients for Sabudana laddu


 ½ cup Sabudana (sago)
 ½ cup Sugar powder
 ¼ cup grated coconut
 4 tbsp ghee
 cardamom powder
 1 tbsp poppy seeds

How to make Sabudana laddu


Making sabudana flour for sabudana laddu
  1. Take sabudana in a frying pan. And saute on high flame till it turns little brownish color.
  2. Now, take roasted sabudana in mixer pan.
  3. Grind hot sabudana into fine powder. Hot sabudana grinds much easily.
Making mixture for sabudana laddu
  1. Saute grated coconut a little on low flame. Then keep it a side.
  2. Saute poppy seeds a little on low flame. Then keep it a side. Khaskhas gives rich taste to ladu.
  3. Add ghee and powder sugar in mixing bowl.
  4. Mix it well till it completely blended.
  5. Pour cardamom powder, roaster poppy seeds and roaster grated coconut and mix it well.
  6. Add sabudana flour and mix it again.
  7. Our mixture is ready to make laddu.

  1. Now take small portion of mixture in one hand and make laddu by pressing and rotating mixture in circular form.
  2. Add ghee in mixture if you feel it too dry.
