Shepuchi Patal Bhaji is a Maharashtrian sabzi. It is very simple to make and takes minimum time. This recipe is also called a Shepuchi Garagati Bhaji.

 

Shepu is a green leaf vegetable, having nutrients and lots of other health benefits. Shepu Bhaji or Suva/Dill leaves provides releaf from respiratory disorders, diarrhea, dysentery, menstrual disorders, and improves our digestion system.

 

Shepuchi Bhaji can be made by two methods. Maharashtrian Style Shepuchi Bhaji or Shepuchi Patal Bhaji also called as gargati bhaji.

 

TIPS FOR SHEPUCHI PATAL BHAJI

  • Use chopped garlic instead of garlic paste. Chopped garlic will add some savoury taste.

 

Ingredients for Shepuchi Patal Bhaji


Main Ingredients
 1 bundle of Shepu duly washed and fine chopped
 1 tbsp Split yellow gram (Harbhara Dal)
 1 tbsp peanuts
 ¼ cup Flour of gram (Besan)
Ingredients for Tadka
 4 Chopped garlic pieces
 Chopped green chillies
 Salt, mustard, turmeric, cumin, hing
 Oil

 

How to make Shepuchi Patal Bhaji


Cooking of Shepuchi Bhaji

Take chopped shepu in a cooker bowl and add washed Split yellow gram with peanuts and little salt. Add around 2 cup of water for cooking. Do 3 whistles of cooker.

After cooking and cooling cooker, remove all water from shepu and take cooked shepu in a mixing bowl. Don't throw water.

Now, add Flour of gram (Besan) in cooked shepu and mash it while gently pressing with ladle. Make sure that all Flour of gram is mixed well in shepu.

Making Tadka

In a frying pan, make some oil hot. Add mustard, cumin and chopped chillies. Saute it all for a mninute.

Then add chopped garlic and saute it till get change in color.

Now, sprinkle hing and turmeric and saute again to mix it well.

Add mashed shepu in tadka and mix it well. And cover it with lid for 1 minute.

Remove lid after 1 minute and saute it for a minute.

Add left water during cooking of shepu in it. and mix it well. Add more water if you want, but don't make it too thin.

Add salt and mix it. And on high flame let it boil. Then cover it with lid for 4 to 5 minutes on low flame.

Remove the cover and mix again. Our easiest and quickest Shpuchi Patal Bhaji. Serve hot. Taste best with Bhakri
