Ingredients for Vada Pav Recipe


Main Ingredients of Vada Pav
 4 Boiled and skinned potatoes
 1 cup flour of gram
 ginger(1/2in)+garlic(10-12)+chillies (4) paste
Ingredients for Tadka
 cumin (jeere)
 Mustard (mohri)
 Hing
 Turmeric (Haldi)
Other Ingredients
 liquid extract of 1/2 lime
 chopped coriander
 Salt, sugar

How to make Vada Pav Recipe


Making batter of Vada Pav
  1. In a mixing bowl, Add flour of gram, salt as per taste, turmeric, hing and 1 tbsp oil. Add red spices if you like.
  2. Pour water slowly while steering gram flour at the same time.
  3. Make medium consistency of batter. Add water if required. Keep aside.
Making Tadka for sabzi
  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a frying pan. Add mustard. Once it scattered, add cumin, hing and turmeric.
  2. Saute with added ginger+garlic+chillies paste. To make this paste just blend 1/2 inch of ginger with 10-12 pieces of garlic and 4 chillies.
Making sabzi for Vada Pav
  1. Now, pour this tadka on boiled and skinned potatoes alongwith salt, little sugar, liquid extract of lime and chopped coriander.
  2. Mix it thoroughly. Mash potatoes very little. If you like you can completely mash potatoes.
  3. Make medium sized balls of potato sabzi while rotating in one hand. Size of balls may be as you like.
  4. Press the ball and make it little flat. Do not make it too flat.
Making Vada Pav
  1. Take sufficient oil in deep frying pan. Let it heat.
  2. Now, sink potato ball in batter. Use spoon to cover batter from all side.
  3. Put vada slowly in hot oil. 
  4. After 2-3 minute rotate vada upside down.
  5. Fry vadas till they get golden brownish in color. Rotate vadas continuously during frying. This process may take upto 10 to 15 minutes.
Making chutney for Vada Pav
  1. Remove all small fried pieces remained after frying vadas and keep aside.
  2. Now, pour remaining batter with spoon in hot oil.
  3. Fry till it gets brownish golden color.
  4. Take all fried batter in mixer jar along with red spices, salt and 2-3 garlic pieces.
  5. Blend it fine to make chutney for vada pav.
Making fried chilly
  1. Take a chilly and cut vertically as you can see in picture.
  2. Fill salt inside chilly.
  3. Fry salt filled chillies in hot oil.
  4. Serve yummy Vada Pav with chutney and chillies
